Help Andrea Peeples Save Her Sight and Continue Shining!
Hi, I’m Lisa, Assistant Director at The Learning Experience in Norman, Oklahoma, and I’m reaching out to support my dear friend and colleague, Andrea Peeples. Andrea welcomed me with warmth and kindness when I joined our school, always ready to help, encourage and even protect me. I've recently learned that she faces a serious challenge that threatens her vision and livelihood. Andrea needs our help, and I’m asking our community to rally around her. For eight years, Andrea has battled Keratoconus, a condition that thins and distorts the cornea, causing severe vision loss. “I have no peripheral vision and suffer significant blurriness in both eyes,” Andrea shares. “My family and husband have been helping me get around, as I am unable to drive. I feel bad because I’m independent and want to do things for myself.” Without insurance, her condition has worsened, and she now faces the risk of permanent blindness without URGENT , "critical" treatment.Andrea needs cross-linking surgery ($8,500) to strengthen her corneas and halt the progression of Keratoconus. She also requires scleral lenses ($2,200, including special eye drops for pain and lens care), which vault over her corneas to improve vision. Recovery will take 2–3 weeks, with challenges like light sensitivity and frequent doctor visits, meaning time off from the job she loves. “I absolutely love my job,” Andrea says. ”We’re raising $10,700 to cover Andrea’s surgery, lenses, eye drops, and essential living expenses during recovery, as she’ll be unable to work. Every dollar will help her see clearly again and pursue her career dreams. Your donation, no matter how small, or sharing this campaign, will be a “tremendous blessing,” in Andrea’s words, easing the financial burden and showing her she’s not alone.Andrea’s strength and love for our daycare community inspire us all. Let’s give back to someone who gives so much. Thank you for your kindness, prayers and financial support in helping Andrea save her sight and continue shining.
With hope and gratitude,
Lisa
