Help Andrea on her journey with MS & long Covid

This is Autumn (Huddleston) Murray. I’m starting this fundraiser to help one of my oldest and dearest friends, Andrea (Tarbell) Boston who has endured a lot more than one person should be forced to handle in the last few years.

Andrea is a fantastic, hard-working, and dedicated single mom to her 3 children (Miles, Ashlynn, and Lyla) who she adores. She is also a devoted nurse and has worked in labor/delivery and postpartum care for mom and baby.

Unfortunately, in September, Andrea contracted Covid. Despite working in labor and delivery and repeatedly helping in the Covid unit, she didn’t contract it at work.

She thought she was on the mend after a few weeks, but things suddenly started getting worse again, and she began experiencing severe cognitive impairment, lightheadedness, balance issues, and weakness. After an ER visit for extreme symptoms while working, a battery of tests confirmed Andrea has MS (Multiple Sclerosis). It is thought that getting Covid “triggered” her MS and is causing her to have a massive flare up. Shortly  after her diagnosis and many visits to doctors, they confirmed she also has long-haul Covid. Her MS is also significantly worse due to her long-haul Covid; as the two conditions together can be devastating and hard to manage, treat, and control.

 

Andrea is desperately working to get herself better enough that she can work and support her kids. As you can imagine, being a nurse while you have cognitive issues, weakness, blurred vision, constant headaches, and sometimes feel off balance is exceptionally hard and limiting her ability to work.

 

Sadly, Andrea has very little family to help her as her mother passed away from cancer when she was 26, and a few years ago her dad passed suddenly in a car accident (after also battling cancer himself for years).

Andrea tries to do it all on her own and shows an immense amount of strength, but her situation is too much for almost anyone to handle without some type of help or support.

I am asking for donations to help ease the financial burden of supporting 3 kids alone while having limited income and medical expenses. We all know how expensive things are right now and especially so for a single mom with limited ability to work.
