Andrea has been on a hard journey with her thyroid for a decade (a frustrating struggle with uncontrollable weight gain, fatigue, you name it) and was told in October chances are very high that she has Thyroid Cancer. She underwent a painful biopsy that same month which confirmed this and was told it was urgent to undergo surgery asap to remove her thyroid to avoid it spreading to other parts of her body. Unfortunately, that surgery has not happened yet (due to a struggle with her job and the finances/time needed off for it). She went back to Utah this March, as she is monitoring it at the Thyroid Institute, and she chose to do another biopsy for peace of mind and to prepare for surgery this June (if she can wait that long). Unfortunately, everything has progressed quite a bit, and we're hoping to get her into surgery sooner if possible. Also the biopsy is a crazy painful process; they jam needles in your neck 6 times, and you can't move. This girl is a WARRIOR!!
On top of this, Andrea and her husband closed on a house this January. It has had one unexpected surprise after another (including a new roof put in by the prior homeowner that is already leaking). Despite everything, she is still the sweet Andrea who is always giving her time to others- including watching 3 additional young kids at night, along with her 2, while preparing for classes and grading papers.
She is always giving to everyone, and now she really needs our help. Any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated, as she needs to get this surgery as soon as possible.
