Help Andrea and Isaac Rebuild After Floods
Donation protected
My friends Andrea and Isaac Poe would never ask for help, so I'm asking for them. Their house and property have sustained catastrophic damage from not one, but both recent floods in St. Johnsbury. You may recognize their home on the corner of Concord Ave and Gilman Ave from the now ubiquitous photos of flood-ravaged Concord Ave. Their house took the entirety of the water coming off of Gilman and Farmer Drive.
The first flood filled their basement, taking out 2 furnaces, 2 tanks of heating oil, and their water heater, punching a hole in their foundation. The cleanup from this event had only just begun when the second flood filled Andrea's mom's apartment off the back of the main home with a foot of mud and dirty water. The once quiet brook has now taken over their backyard, destroying their gardens and filling their garage with debris.
Their first priority is to secure the foundation from these deluges of rain and the rerouted brook. They will need to replace both furnaces that heat their main home and mom's apartment and replace all the lost fuel oil.
The amount of cleanup is overwhelming enough in itself and the financial hit is too much to bear on their own.
They are parents of a teenage daughter and have also taken on a teen in need recently and their funds are being stretched to the extreme. Any help will be most graciously appreciated and put towards the rebuilding of their home. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
