Hi! My name is Kelly Plaza and on August 12th, 2022 I received the devasting news that my husband of 23 years, Andre, was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.

Back in 2011, Andre was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer. He had surgery to remove the tumor that was growing in his pancreas and into his spleen. The surgeon removed half of his pancreas and his entire spleen and Andre was considered NED (no evidence of disease). The surgeon advised us that this type of cancer usually comes back after several years and metastasizes into the liver. In April 2020, Andre ended up in the emergency room with a saddle pulmonary embolism. Both of his lungs had blood clots and his heart was enlarged. Thankfully doctors were able to save his life by administering medicine to break up the clots. We were told that the clots probably formed during a long drive from Colorado to Wisconsin. In March of 2022, Andre again had blood clots, this time in his arm. We then learned that recurrent blood clots can be a symptom of cancer and given Andre's previous bout with cancer, the doctor this time suggested more testing. We found out in August of 2022 that Andre now has stage 4 neuroendocrine liver cancer. He has too many tumors in his liver to remove with surgery and the cancer is also in his lymph nodes. He is receiving cancer treatment at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee to stop the tumors from growing. Because his cancer is so advanced we know this treatment alone will not be enough to give him the best chance at a healthy life. To get rid of the tumors we would also like to treat Andre's cancer and immune system more aggressively and naturally. To do so, we need to seek treatment outside the United States. Our goal is to raise funds to travel to Hope4Cancer in Cancun, Mexico. The doctors there offer many alternative treatments to help boost Andre's immune system and to attack the cancer cells in hopes of beating cancer for good.

Andre is a very loving husband to me and a very loving father to Mikayla (21), Hannah (19), and Abigail (6). We would like to improve his health so he can continue to be here for his family and raise his girls. Hope4Cancer offers a holistic and integrative approach to treating cancer and treats the root causes of cancer. They are world-renowned and offer state-of-the-art technology. We would love for Andre to receive this kind of treatment that will be unique to his needs. He would receive many therapies and treatments daily in Mexico and the education to continue them at home. We know our sovereign Father holds Andre in his hands and will provide the care Andre needs.

The funds raised will be used to cover travel costs and the cost of the treatment in Mexico and here at home. We would use funds to buy the many supplements and therapy devices that can help kill cancer and propel Andre's health in the right direction. We covet prayers for Andre's healing and for the Lord to direct our steps in this fight. We want to do as much as we can for my dear Andre while trusting in God's love, providence, and provision. We hope to travel to Mexico at the end of May when our passports are renewed.
