Help Andre fight Cancer
Donation protected
As some of you may know and others may not, Andre was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), an aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that develops from the B-cells in the lymphatic system.
Andre had to start chemotherapy the week after being diagnosed with cancer and understandably is still in shock, processing the bad news whilst adjusting and preparing for the changes and impact that cancer is having on his life.

His chemotherapy (R-CHOP) will be given in 6 blocks (‘cycles’) of treatment, one cycle of treatment lasts 5 days and consist of a series of doses of chemotherapy followed by a 21 break for the healthy cells to recover.
The cost of chemo is covered by Medicare, but there are a lot of extras that won't be. Cancer patients are commonly immunosuppressed and at risk for a wide range of infections, which means that it is way too dangerous for Andre to continue working as a gardener throughout treatment, which will continue for at least the next four months.
While he is without an income, his friends would like to help ease the stress of going through this hard time, and raise some money to help him pay the rent and put food on the table. The aim is to help make this time as easy and stress free as it can be for both Andre and his family, so that he can concentrate on the most important thing - getting better. Any donation to assist with medical, travel and living expenses will be greatly appreciated by his friends, partner and family.
Even if it's just a small donation, it would be monumentally helpful throughout this difficult time.
Since Andre moved from Brazil to Australia 9 years ago, he had to fight a lot of battles over the past few years, from visa restrictions to sports hernia and groin reconstruction surgery. But of course he succeeded and has made a mark on many of those he has met for being a loyal, funny, optimistic, positive and kind part of our lives.
We hope you get well soon, Andre!!!
Thank you & Obrigado Xxx
