Help Rebuild Lives in Jamaica After Devastating Losses
Hello everyone,
My name is Andrae Sutherland, and I was born in the Spanish Town Hospital in Jamaica. Today, I’m reaching out from Chicago, where I now live, to ask for help for my family and friends back home who have lost everything.
Recently, severe devastation struck their communities — homes were destroyed, and even the local hospitals where they live and seek care have been severely damaged. Many have been left without shelter, food, or access to basic medical support. Families are sleeping in makeshift areas, uncertain of how they will rebuild.
I may be far from home, but my heart remains in Jamaica. These are the same neighborhoods where I grew up — where the values of love, unity, and community shaped me into who I am today. Seeing the pain and struggle of those who once supported me is heartbreaking.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help provide emergency relief — including temporary shelter, food, clean water, clothing, and rebuilding materials — for families who have lost everything.
No amount is too small. Every dollar will go directly toward rebuilding lives, restoring hope, and helping those who are suffering get back on their feet.
Please share this campaign with others who may want to help. Together, we can bring light back to Jamaica and show that even across miles, compassion has no borders.
Thank you for your love, generosity, and prayers.
With gratitude,
Andrae O. Sutherland
