My name is Andi and I work as an independent contractor for a local dog walking/pet sitting company. I also work part-time at a restaurant. On Monday, July 8th I was out walking a dog for a client when two dogs got loose from their yard and tried to attack us. Luckily, neither one of us was bit, but I tripped while running away and broke the second metatarsal in my foot. I went to MedExpress, and then to an orthopedic doctor, who gave me a medical boot to wear, with crutches, for six weeks. I am not able to work my restaurant job for those six weeks and because I am an independent contractor, I do not qualify for Worker’s Compensation in this case. I have been trying to do some pet sitting jobs that do not include excessive walking but wearing the boot still seriously limits my mobility and I am nowhere near able to work at the capacity that I would on a regular basis. Any money that I make from this GoFundMe will go directly to my monthly bills until I can literally and figuratively get back on my feet and back to work full time. Thank you so much
