After struggling like the rest of us through a year of pandemic and financial challenges, Andi Piccini - one of my best friends and one of LA’s finest firecrackers - got the news that she has breast cancer. In perfect Andi fashion, she has been dealing with her situation with all the positivity and strength that she can muster. If you know Andi, or you’ve just heard me talk about how great she is, you know that she is a kind, loving, compassionate and very strong person who has been there for me and many of us during our darker times. I’ve set up this GoFundMe because she is also someone who has a very difficult time asking others for help when she needs it most.

Over the past few months, Andi has undergone three lumpectomies (i.e., breast conserving surgeries), but each time her doctors found more traces of cancer in the surrounding tissue. At this point, mastectomy is the only procedure that her doctors believe will eliminate the cancer. 

The surgery and treatments are costly and money raised by this GoFundMe will help to cover some of these costs. If you have the means to help, I know that any contribution would be so appreciated by her. A return to normal is something we’re all looking forward to after this past year, but for Andi, getting back to normal will mean getting back to a “new normal” that you can help shape.
