Help Andi beat cancer!!

Hi everyone! This is Colette, Andreas best friend. She has asked me to help tell her story and start the gofundme account for her. So here it goes.....

As most of you are aware my best friend of 20 years was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of HER2 positive breast cancer in 2014. After having a left mastectomy and multiple lymph nodes infected with cancer removed she fought the cancer with a very aggressive Chemo regiment and beat it.  Honestly my HERO!

Unfortunately we received the news we never wanted to hear again in November when Andrea was rediagnosed but this time she was diagnosed with STAGE 4 METASTATIC BREAST CANCER which had spread aggressively to both lungs, her liver and most of the bones in her body including arms, ribs, spine, shoulder blade, and most of her femur and both hips.  This has been a devastating time for her, her daughter, her family, and for all of us who love her.  Medically speaking a cancer at this level does not carry with it a hopeful prognosis but no matter what each day has brought her I can say that my best friend has not only held it together (sometimes even for the rest of us) but she has held on to the most important things a girl with cancer could ever have.....and that is HOPE and FAITH. 

Andrea has had to travel each week to Salt Lake for an aggressive chemotherapy which causes her to have severe if not debilitating nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, bone pain, and loss of hair.  Through out all of the trips to Huntsman she has kept in high spirits and very rarely did she allow it all to get her down (of course there were definitely emotional moments of fear and anger but thats to be expected)

Andrea is now on a new chemo regiment TDM1 which is awesome in so many ways....she only has to go for infusion every 3 weeks and the nausea and hair loss have subsided.

Andrea is a very strong person....strongest that I know and she has never once approached the topic of fundraising although in her situation it is and has been something we probably should have been doing since day one but she doesn't like the idea of asking others for help.

Which brings me to why I am writing this post.........
Andrea is now in a position where she will unexpectedly most likely be losing her health insurance very soon and the thought of this has us all petrified.  The cost of treatment alone is mind blowing and due to andreas diagnosis she will unfortunately be receiving chemo infusions for the rest of her life....she has a permanent port. She also has not been able to work since her diagnosis in November. The costs of travel, hotels, food, and gas every week is also a burden which Andrea has to cover each time she goes for treatment.

Andrea has the most beautiful little girl and now that there is a very good chance she will not have insurance and other sources of monthly income will cease I feel that it is time to finally talk my best friend into letting me do what I do best and start a fundraiser to help her and Ella with expenses as they move forward in her fight to live.

This woman is the world to so many of us.  And I know if you are MY friend you have most likely followed her journey through our goofy and heartfelt posts on FB.  I have never known Andrea to ask for anything beyond honesty, love, and understanding from anyone that she knows but she knows that unfortunately the time has come, no other options remain, to finally ask our amazing town and citizens for help.
