Help Anderson Stand Strong After Surgery

Hi!

My name is Anderson. I am a working artist and entrepreneur. The majority of my time being spent producing, directing, filming, editing and photographing people, homes, hotels and events. I am an active member at The Brownhoist, a historic building in Cleveland, home to a budding collective of artists who are focused on community building in our neighborhood and beyond.

In early May, I arrived home with some nerve pain in my back and right leg. I attempted to sleep it off, but upon awaking found I was unable to put any weight on my right leg. I drove myself to the emergency room to find that I had small stress fractures through both of my femurs & a significant fracture in my right femur. These fractures were attributed to lifelong chronic kidney issues (which effects bone density), along with my lifestyle of working hard & remaining active on my feet every day.

I was in surgery 24 hours later.

The doctors suggested fixing the right femur with a plate and 4 screws, and offered to install 3 screws on the left side to help prevent any major breaks in the future.

I knew the recovery would be intense either way, so I chose to have them operate on both legs at the same time. The surgery went well, and I was back to standing upright 3 hours after the operation. I have been dedicated to my recovery ever since.

Insurance has covered some of my medical expenses, but there are still bills to be paid. I am currently working at an extremely limited capacity, and paying people out of my pocket to cover obligations to clients made before the surgery.

While I have been able to pick up editing jobs, they are not nearly enough to cover my living expenses, even with changing my lifestyle to accommodate the inability to operate at full capacity.

This campaign is an effort to allow me the time needed to focus on my recovery. While a full recovery will take over a year, I am confident that I will be strong enough to work in the next 2-3 months. I am grateful for any and all donations, as they will help me cover my living expenses through the most restrictive period of my recovery.
