Help Andelino Overcome and Persevere

We are fund raising for a student who recently graduated from South Fort Myers High School. This student has lost both his parents in the past 9 months. We are raising funds to help pay for housing, insurance, meal plans, books, tuition and other expenses while he attends Florida State University.
Andelino Calderon is an outstanding young man, who needs your generosity. We can all agree that 2020 has been a rough year, to say the least, but Andelino has had the kind of year upon which books are written and movies are made. Sadly, his story still lacks its happy ending.
In October, when most high school seniors were worrying about being accepted into their top college and planning for their future, Andelino was burying his mother. Barbara, his mother, suffered a stroke and died unexpectedly. Andelino’s mother always dreamed that her only son would go to college and Andelino never disappointed his momma; he was actually late to her funeral because he was taking the SAT, in the hopes of earning a higher score. All of the hard work paid off, as Andelino was accepted into Florida State University, making him the first in his family to attend college. A few months later, Covid-19 happened and Andelino’s senior year came to a serendipitous end.
Graduating was a breeze for a kid who took mostly AP and Honors courses, despite the global pandemic. It also didn’t hurt that Andelino was one of South Fort Myers High’s most popular kids, amongst the faculty and staff. Talking with his teachers, administrators, and counselors, their admiration is as deep as the level of respect that they have for him. Unfortunately, 2020 was not done with Andelino and tragedy lurked ominously near.
Less than a week ago, Andelino found his father dead on the family’s patio. Andelino began the year with two parents and now, he is heading off to college as an young man who has lost both his parents in a year. Andelino will still be at FSU for the fall semester, but he needs your support. With the abundant bills, we are seeking your donations to help offset some of his financial burden. All money raised will be given directly to Andelino. Please give what you can, as we know that times are hard for so many. Your generosity is an investment in the life of a phenomenal human being, one who will continue to amaze us all for decades to come. You have the opportunity to turn a late mother’s dream into a reality for her son, so please give to this worthy cause.
