As many of you know, two gray bunnies have been running around The Meadows neighborhood of Altadena, worrying the neighborhood rabbit lovers. Unfortunately, these two were the offspring of another pair released in the area. We have been trying to catch these two for many months. A neighbor finally caught one, and we offered to bring it home as the heat wave was so extreme and deadly for rabbits. We were dismayed that a neighbor discovered a pile of baby bunnies a few days later. It took us many days of wrangling, but we are thrilled to report that we have finally gathered up all SIX baby bunnies and are now safely back with mom. Dad is the last one that needs to be found, totaling *EIGHT* bunnies that need your help!

We had them all seen by a vet (except for baby #6, which we just caught), and other than being emaciated and having some eye infections, they are in relatively good shape. We are left with the daunting reality that the no-kill animal shelters are full and not accepting more rabbits.

This is a huge cost, but we want to make sure these bunnies have the medical treatments they need, and most importantly, that they get placed in a safe shelter or adopted.

We were very lucky that the vet volunteered their time on the first appointment, so we only had to pay for supplies and medications. So far, we have spent about $400, a bargain for having so many rabbits seen by a vet. Ultimately we would like to ensure that all 8 bunnies are vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Ideally, we would have a rescue agency take them in and do this and get them adopted - but everyone we have called so far has said no as they are completely overwhelmed with unwanted rabbits. .

We got an estimate of about $600 each for neutering, spaying, and vaccinations. Of course, to do all 8 bunnies would cost about $5,000! Which seems like an insurmountable amount of money to raise. Anything you can give to help these sweet little bunnies and keep them safe, happy and healthy moving forward would be SO so appreciated!
