Help Claire give her mum a beautiful send off

Hi, my name is Jade. I am the best friend of Claire from us been 2 years old. Unfortunately Claires mum passed away on 1st March 2025 while in hospital. Claire has no family to support her emotionally or financially. Susan was an only child so no aunties, uncles or cousins to go to for support. Sues husband, claires dad passed away when Claire was 7 so she has no dad to help and support her at this utterly heartbreaking time. Claires nanny and grandad, sues mum and dad Unfortunately passed away when Claire was young too so its absolutely breaking my heart to think that Claire is the only blood relative of Susan's now and has no family support emotionally or financially. Claire has 3 beautiful young children. The 4 of them have always been sues world as you can imagine.

Sue was admitted to hospital with pneumonia and within the week she was moved to ICU for further treatment as the drs discovered Susan's heart wasn't working as it should and her kidneys were not working either. The ICU team tried to help sue make a full recovery but unfortunately the medical interventions they tried unfortunately made sues heart weaker. Claire was called to the hospital on Friday evening, Claire and myself went straight up and we was met with sue and the drs. They told us all that unfortunately there was nothing else that could be done to save sue as her heart was under too much strain from the medications they had been trying and it was making sue too poorly. Sue with a beautiful smile on her face had no choice and made the utterly heartbreaking decision to turn off the machines as the drs said they was just keeping her alive at this point.

Claire and me held sues hands and spoke about memories we have made and shared so much love. we both stayed holding sue until she took her last breath early Saturday morning.

This has been unexplainabley painful for Claire as it has always been Claire and Sue together. Claire has shown so much strength this week and I truly wish she didn't have to have the financial burden of paying for funeral expenses and everything else that comes with this great loss of her mum.

Sue didn't have anything in place as this was not the outcome that was expected.

So many of sues and claires friends have been in touch and offered support which is appreciated more than you will know.

I have decided a go fund me would he the best and most helpful option for accepting the help and support.

Claire has had to take some time off work to deal with everything including emptying sues home and all the things that have to come the next few weeks which is having an extra worry on Claire as bills and things don't stop.
