Help and Justice for Uncle Danny and Family.

Danny Brito would have been 59 on July 13th. Danny had been paraplegic all his life and cared for by my grandparents and father(Danny’s younger brother) until his sudden passing. Growing up my grandpa made additions and improvements to the house to better fit the increasing needs of Danny. My grandparents Carmen(78) and Daniel(92) cared for Danny by lifting him into bed, dressing him, wound care, and bathing him. They cared for him day in and day out tirelessly if it meant good health for their son. Danny’s family has been right by his side through countless doctor’s appointments, surgeries, treatments, and procedures all around the country. Through all of the emotional and physical stress my uncle had to endure; my grandparents were the ones who put on a brave face and gave my uncle endless reassurance that everything would be okay. With all odds stacked against him, my uncle kept his bright and loud personality.
Danny had spent a whole month in the hospital due to pneumonia. It was a tough and miraculous recovery as it was, however, the suffering and pain began taking its toll on Danny. It was especially difficult when he stated the hospital was careless and caused more damage than recovery for him. He was tired of being in pain all the time making him hesitant to keep up with neglectful treatment he was receiving at the time. All he wanted was to be around family at home. Danny only got to be home for about two weeks before having complications again, but he was with his family when he passed away on July 11th. He went in peace around the people he loved the most and that’s what he valued the most. .
In the previous hospital where Danny was flown to, it was discovered after his complaints that something wasn't right. In this hospital, he was dropped on the floor multiple times without any family members or emergency contacts notified of the incidents. Due to the careless malpractice of this hospital, Danny was left with a broken knee, fractured hip, and numerous bruises. The only respiration given was an apology by the attending nurse and that was only because my grandma brought it up to her. The nurse stated the excuse “We didn't know this happened.” An appointment with an orthopedic specialist was offered soon thereafter, but was only available to see Danny a month later. Danny was sent home against better judgement with bruises and broken bones as a parting gift. Days after arriving home, Danny got a call asking to complete a survey of the care he received at the hospital. Danny was honest stating the numerous acts of malpractice that lead to his injuries, but no actions were taken against the accused. The hospital's only concern at hand was if Danny was lying. .
Not only did the hospital break his bones, but they broke Danny’s wonderful spirit. My grandparents had to see their lifeless son in a hospital bed being read his last rites knowing that he could pass at any moment. All their lives they only knew how to care for their son.
I’m asking for help and support for my grandparents to cover the cost of Danny’s passing as well as an attorney to claim justice for the tortuous treatment my uncle had to go through. I am organizing this for them because they are dealing and grieving with the death of their beloved son. From me and the entire family, we thank you wholeheartedly for any help we can receive. Uncle Danny’s memory will live on in our hearts and will be missed by all.
