Help and Hope for Paula

Thank you for coming to this fundraiser site.  It has been created for Paula (Knott) Dreager.   Some of you already know Paula.  For those of you who do not, let me tell you about her.  I can't talk about Paula without also talking about her husband, Martin, and their two sons, Bryce and Max.  Their family bond is very loving and strong.  Paula has lived in Lake Havasu City for about 30 years.  They raised their sons here.  If you have been to a Little League Baseball game, high school football or basketball game, you probably saw her there.   Even now that the kids are grown, their house will be swarmed by the young adults that grew up with their sons.  The kids swim and shoot pool while Martin mans the grill.  Paula has always been involved, with family and the community.  When a playground for disabled children was needed, Paula and Martin got it built at no cost to the community.  They have also opened their home to groups of veterans to stay for a few days of recreation.  Again, without compensation.


 
Now, Paula needs our help.  She has been diagnosed with uterine cancer.  Paula and Martin have no medical insurance.  They can't afford to buy it themselves, but they make too much to get any assistance, they fell through that gap.  She has already had several expensive appointments with various doctors at several clinics, including the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.  Paula will have surgery later this month.  She will not be able to work for quite a while, and Martin will be missing work to be with Paula.  Their income will suffer, but the bills won't stop.  Even if they continue to work during this time, the medical bills are going to be overwhelming.  We would like to see to it that Paula can fight this cancer without unnecessary worry.  You can help make that happen.  No amount is too small, every bit helps. Thank you so much for your time and compasion.  We'll keep you posted.
