Help and Healing for Tanya

As if this year needed to be any harder! This past May, our good friend Tanya Jans was diagnosed with breast cancer. This comes only a few years after she helped her own mother successfully fight the same disease. Those who know Tanya know that she is a selfless friend to so many people of all kinds and has a huge heart for helping others. Whether she’s paddling the dragon boat with the Bravehearts, cheering for the Oilers, working out in the gym, or at work supporting individuals with disabilities, Tanya’s funny (and dark) sense of humour and passion for caring shines so bright.  We know that her friends would like to support her during this challenging time, so we’ve created this Go Fund Me to alleviate some of the economic strain and help her as she undergoes cancer treatment.

Tanya is just beginning her treatments and will be undergoing radiation therapy throughout the summer.  She had surgery in late May and will be off work for an extended amount of time, depending on the prognosis. We hope that her treatment will be straightforward, but we know that there can be bumps and unexpected challenges along the way and want her to focus on the fight. Now is when Tanya should be thinking about health and healing, not having to stress about finances.   

The funds raised will help Tanya while she is off work and cannot earn her full salary, assist her with taxi transportation to and from her treatments, and maybe order some takeout for herself and her son Sammi on the nights where it’s just too exhausting. Please help us in lightening her worries and giving her strength at this challenging time. Thank you so much for your generosity and care!
