Ancient Valley Growers is a family production farm in Wood Valley that have been again impacted by weather events. We needed help before the Kona low, and so now we need help more than ever. We took the Kona low on the chin and have applied to several storm relief sources to mitigate the $22,000 in crop losses we sustained then. As soon as we partially got back on our feet we get hit again by Lala this time obviously being much worse concerning damage and crop losses again. The crop loss estimate from Lala is very much the same, around $20,000 in field crops buried in mud, and dozens of chickens drowned or washed away. Our once perfect zucchini and cabbage fields are rotting setting us back 60 to 75 days . The time required for cleanup is taking us away from tending to our one planted Greenhouse . While the organizations that could help us are wonderful we realized we should ask for more immediate help as a safety net. Field reshaping and replanting is priority one but we also need to fund building a bridge to regain access to 70% of our farm. The Kona low washed out our road and Lala made it even wider.

All of this comes as we welcome our first child Atlas to the family who as of today Sunday 8/30 is 9 days old. This funding will go to purchasing new seed, fertilizer, potting soil and labor to get us back on our feet here and producing like we once did. Our mission is and has always been durable and regenerative food security for our community. We want to be a reliable source of clean local food whether the ships come in or not.
