Hi, my name is Emilio, and I'm a researcher from England. I am raising funds for Anan Harb Abu Odeh and his family. Anan reached out to me from Gaza, where he lives. He is 24 years old and now displaced in Deir al-Balah. He asked me for help because he couldn't open a fundraising campaign himself, and over the last few weeks, we have talked over messages. He sent me live pictures, but we couldn't speak on the phone: he does not speak English and I do not speak Arabic, and his internet connection is often unstable. I have seen the horror that this war has brought upon him and his family. Before the war, he used to study and also ran his own barber shop to support his family. He had many hopes and dreams, such as getting married and starting his own family. However, all his dreams have been shattered by the war. The occ*upie*rs have destroyed his barber shop and his house. His family, which consists of 9 people, has no source of income, and now they live in a tent. Anan is the eldest son, and his father cannot work. So he has been the provider for a while, but now, without the shop, he can't support the family anymore.
