Message from the Husband of our Friend Analyn.... I married my wife Analyn in Oct 2019 after a long-distance relationship. We knew that settling down was best for us as being together created such fulfilment and joy for both of us. When we got married, I applied her for permanent residency to legalise her stay in Australia but while going thru her medical application, the doctor found out that she has a kidney failure, hence her application for permanent residence had been denied. Despite the denial of her permanent residence, she continues to stay in Australia legally under the Bridging visa. However, this visa limits her to access the medical benefits of an Australian resident.

For 5 years now, she has been undergoing dialysis 3x a week. According to the medical professionals, 5 years has been a long time and that she should now go thru kidney transplant. And since she does not hold a permanent residence visa, unfortunately she cannot be covered under any insurance for this surgery. Should she continue with the kidney transplant operation, the amount that she would need to pay is $90,000. We have looked at other options, which includes her going back home to her home country (the Philippines) for a kidney transplant, and even applied for some assistance in getting the transplant , but unfortunately with the present administration , there no longer is any medical assistance provided.

Financially, my income is not enough to meet the cost of the kidney transplant here in Australia, moreso in the Philippines. I am very exhausted and my wife tries her best to earn income by doing small jobs despite her condition to help pay her medical bills and insurance. I cannot imagine my wife being sent back home to the Philippines with no assurance of her getting better and no assurance of also coming back here in Australia.

We would like to appeal to you to help us towards Analyn’s kidney transplant here in Australia.
