- I
Hello for those that don't know me, my name is Anai. I am a percussionist who recently graduated from Cal Poly Pomona. I am not one who typically asks for help, however, one of my cats named Willow, recently had a health issue that lead to a little more than $800 vet bill, which is why I am now asking for help. I am still early in my career, and so I do not have a stable job at the moment to confidently take on this bill. In addition to that, I also have three other cats, a large dog, a bearded dragon, and fish that all rely on most of my financial support.
I rescued Willow off the streets almost three years ago. He has been a valued member of the family, at the time helping me through the loss of my first childhood dog. When I first took Willow in, he was in rough shape with thin hair on his back and scabs from him biting himself. After we took him in, he was able to relax, have a nice warm bath, and grow into his new furry coat. However, about a month ago he started licking, scratching, and biting his backside again, this time closer to his rear. I put a cone on him as I had done before, however he was still able to reach. I then took him to an animal clinic where they gave him more flea medicine and assured me he would get better and did not need the cone. Three days after that, his condition only worsened. I could see that he was in pain and discomfort, and I finally took him to the vet. There, they shaved him, cleaned the area, gave him antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and took a skin scraping. He is finally doing much better now, but he still has a long recovery ahead of him. We are still unsure as to what caused this sudden onset of itchiness so there may be more vet bills in the future, however right I am only asking for help with the two vet visit bills he has had thus far.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
