My childhood friend, Ana Sicra, a single mother of two girls, urgently needs help for a surgical operation for a hernia and repair of her abdominal muscles, which will be performed in Romania.

To give you an idea of her health situation, I can tell you that Ana suffers from a series of complications that arose after her last pregnancy (in 2020), when she was left alone in the middle of the pandemic (only with her 9-year-old daughter) and was seven months pregnant, locked in the house due to Covid, without any help from any adult or family member. She was forced to lift many heavy things and go shopping far from home, which caused her to damage her abdominal muscles. After giving birth, the muscles remained on one side and the other and did not return as they usually do during the recovery period. The pregnancy was not carried to term; Ana ended up in the hospital, and the baby was born early.

She continued to lift things, initially out of necessity to manage everything, and then she lifted a lot at work, four months after giving birth.

In conclusion, for the last five years, my friend has lived with a lot of pain, taking anti-inflammatories and painkillers, and has a large abdominal diastasis of 9.5 cm (even though she underwent rehabilitation at the clinic for over a year).

Doctors recommended surgery to stitch the muscles three years ago, at a private clinic, because this surgery is not done for free in public hospitals. However, her income has not been sufficient, so she did not have the surgery.

Now, the effects have escalated. Her intestines have started to protrude, her spine has remained crooked, and due to her body's posture, other conditions have followed: chronic lumbar sciatica, arthritis at the end of the spine, and last month a hernia appeared in the umbilical area.

She needs to repair the diastasis, apply a special mesh over the entire abdomen, and repair the hernia as soon as possible. It is not a simple surgery. From what I understand, following a recent CT scan, they observed that the intestines have even started to tangle.

I kindly ask you to contribute, no matter how small, to raise the amount she needs for the surgery. Let’s help Ana have a healthy abdomen and a normal life. She is 43 years old.
