Help Ana Overcome Language and Motor Challenges
Donation protected
Hello my name is Naila and I'm seeking to help my dear friend (Jessica) and her husband (Fabiano) who currently live in Brazil with there new family.
Jessica and Fabiano have been married for 13 years.
Jessica has a condition that prevents her from having a child naturally. After a time of unsuccessful attempts, they were encouraged to become parents through adoption. After some time in prayer, they joined the adoption queue.
After three years of waiting and praying, the “phone rang” (the term we use in Brazil for the arrival of children). As if the excitement of knowing that their prayer for a child would soon be answered, they where doubly blessed when they were told whey would be getting not one but two children, a brother and sister, Ana and Pedro.
However, the children spent years living in a hostile environment, with countless physical and emotional abuses and difficulties. The biological mother used drugs and allowed the children to live in ways we cannot even imagine.
Both of them faced traumatic experiences in their early years with their biological mother, due to the nature of what took place and age of the children involved details cannot be provided. BUT, through the grace, sovereignty and mercy of God, they are now in a Christian home. With parents who love them.
But as you can imagine the initial months were very challenging for both parents and children. But the grace of God was with them daily. As time went by, the children began to adapt and with that, other concerns began to arise, especially regarding Ana.
Ana was diagnosed with Language Development Disorder and Motor Speech Disorder, conditions that have significantly impacted her school learning.
Therefore, it is essential that she begins intervention as soon as possible.
In addition to speech therapy, Ana is also receiving Christian counseling and support to deal with the traumas she experienced and will also require a neurological evaluation.
Initially, two sessions per week were planned, but this option became unfeasible, since each session costs R$230.00, ( about $40) totaling R$1,840.00 (about $320/monthly), an amount close to Jessica's salary.
Recently, the doctor in charge contacted Jessica, suggesting that they try to hold one session per week, but knowing the family's financial situation, I know that they do not have the resources for even one session.
This amount we seek to raise for little Ana should cover the costs of one session per week as well as some of the other medical costs for a while, allowing Ana to receive the help she needs.
Anything will help, Thank You.
“In everything I have shown you that by working like this you must help those in need, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus himself: It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Acts 20:35
May God bless you abundantly!
