Hello, my name is Ana, and I am a 21 year old student from Russia studying at the University of Edinburgh. At age 16 I got a scholarship to go and study at UWC Red Cross Nordic in Norway which not only gave me an opportunity to receive a word-class education but also escape the abusive environment that I lived in before. After graduating I went to University of Edinburgh to study Linguistics and English Language.

This year I have found myself in a situation where I no longer receive the funds to continue my education and although it is very upsetting in itself it also means that I have to return to live with my abuser since my UK visa has been withdrawn. The university is aware of the situation but has done nothing to help. My absolutely amazing friends are helping me out with this campaign as a last resort.

Through working the whole summer I now have £4500, however, it is not enough to pay for the tuition fees and the living cost for the semester ahead. I am trying to raise £5000 which would be paid towards the tuition (£9900). In case I cannot raise enough money to pay for tuition, all funds will go towards paying for a secure accommodation back in Russia so I don’t have to return to the household where I was mentally and physically abused. I am setting this GoFundMe as a last resort to escape the abusive environment and continue my education.
