Ana is my rock—she’s always been there for me, especially after I became disabled last year in a near-fatal car accident. She lost her job and insurance while caring for me and my son, always putting our needs before her own. As a beloved teacher known as Miss Bee, Ana has made a huge impact on our local community. She can’t walk down the street without someone calling out to her, and she’s the last person who deserves such an ugly diagnosis. Her heart is truly gold, and she’s just short of a saint.
A few months ago, Ana became very sick and her condition quickly worsened. She finally went to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with stage 3C metastatic ovarian and uterine cancer. This diagnosis is especially hard because Ana’s own mother, Maria—lovingly called Vovo—passed away from the same disease. Ana needs both chemotherapy and radiation, but she can’t even start treatment because she doesn’t have the funds for the first step: getting a port put in after having most of her reproductive organs removed. Living in a small rural area, she has to drive almost two hours each way to see her doctors, making the costs even higher.
We could use any and all help at this time. Ana is so precious to so many people, and we couldn’t imagine a world without her. It would be devastating to lose her just because we didn’t have the funds to literally save her life. She means everything to our family, especially my son and my dad. Anyone’s help would be invaluable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
