My name is Ana Carolina (Lina) Mindlin Lockard, and I am a high school senior pursuing my dream of competing at the highest level in women’s wrestling. Wrestling has become so much more than a sport to me; it has shaped who I am. It has taught me discipline, resilience, sacrifice, and how to keep fighting even when things get hard.

Over the years, my dedication and hard work have led me to become a 3-time New York State Champion, a 6-time PSAL City Champion, and the first wrestler in history to become a 4-time PSAL Freestyle City Champion. I’ve also been ranked as high as #15 in the country and earned 3rd place at NHSCA Nationals while competing against some of the best wrestlers in the United States. Next year, I will be attending Lehigh University and wrestling on their Division 1 women's wrestling team.

This summer, I have the opportunity to compete at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U National Championships (AKA “Fargo”) in Fargo, North Dakota, one of the most prestigious wrestling tournaments in America. For me, this opportunity represents years of sacrifice, commitment, and believing in myself, even when the journey was difficult.
