Help Ana and Killik Find a Safe Home
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ana, and I’m a recovering alcoholic who’s been to hell and back—but I’m not giving up. I came to Colorado from Southern California searching for a fresh start, a second chance at life. I’ve been sober and working hard to build a better future, but right now, I need help getting back on my feet.
When I arrived here, I was staying with someone who offered to help. Unfortunately, that help came with conditions I couldn’t agree to. When I refused to compromise my values, I was kicked out. Now, I find myself homeless, with nowhere to go, no family here, and no one to lean on—except my loyal dog, Killik, a German Shepherd who’s been with me through the darkest times. He’s not just my pet—he’s my family, my support, and a reason I keep pushing forward.
I’ve been a barber for over 10 years. It’s what I love. Cutting hair isn’t just a job—it’s my passion, my art, and a way I connect with people. I know that if I can get into a place to call home—whether it’s a studio or a small apartment—I can rebuild. I just need a helping hand to get there.
Addiction is a battle most people don’t see. It’s not just about substances—it’s about pain, trauma, shame, and trying to numb what you can’t face. Recovery is a daily fight to believe you’re worthy of more. I’ve done the hard work to stay sober, and I’m committed to staying on this path. But I can’t do it alone—not this time.
If you’re able to contribute, even a little, it will go directly toward helping me and Killik get into a stable home and back to doing what I love. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.
Thank you for reading my story and for believing that everyone deserves a second chance.
With love and gratitude,
Ana
