Hi, my name is Ana Mejia, and I’m humbly asking for your support as I prepare for a life-saving kidney transplant — a journey that I’m incredibly grateful not to be walking alone.

My big brother, Hugo, is not only a proud U.S. Marine but also my kidney donor — a true hero in every sense of the word. He is stepping forward to save my life, all while raising two beautiful little girls with his wife. His strength, generosity, and love are beyond words.

I’ve been battling chronic kidney disease / kidney failure for many years and this transplant is my best chance at living a full, healthy life again. While I’m beyond blessed to have a match in my own family, the financial side of this journey is a heavy burden for both of us.

The funds raised will help us cover:

• Transplant-related medical expenses for both me and my brother

• Travel and lodging for surgery and follow-up care

• Lost income during our recovery periods

• Post-transplant medications and ongoing treatment

Even with insurance, the costs are overwhelming. My brother will need time off from his military duties to recover, and with two girls at home, both under 5, the financial strain will impact his entire family as well.
