Help An Overworked Mom Stay Afloat

Things I hate doing: Asking for help. A monologue.

4k is a lot, let me explain.
In an effort to stabilize my life again I'm going out of my comfort zone and laying it all out. Through a long series of unfortunate events I'm going through a divorce and for various reasons have been left with a chunk of financial debt to bill related sources. At the same time, my dog is battling a skin infection stemming from allergies and is on a round of steroids and medications to get him right again. He needs an ongoing allergy treatment that off the top will cost 200. I haven't been able to purchase that yet. In addition, my van has begun to make a very unsafe sound from under the frame that I believe is a wheel bearing gone bad. I can't take it in because I need to get to work and don't have any money to get it back if they tell me I shouldn't drive it sooooo I'm taking it out slowly and praying every pot hole isn't my last. To continue the ongoing struggle, NYSEG landed me with a hefty 1400 bill a couple months ago that I've been desperately trying to pay off but despite giving them hundreds every week, it's back up to 1600 from continued billing. (The horrors persist) I could pay an entire check into it and I wouldn't bring it below 1k. Through the divorce there were 'miscommunications' on the rent and so it's behind by 2 months and my landlords have to pay taxes on the house. They made me aware recently they will have to sell the house if I can't pay so they're able to cover them. My sister who I pay to watch my son, is currently living with me and I will have a roommate moving in at the end of the month who is ready and willing to help us maintain this house and life's struggles but until then, I'm drowning and I need help. I don't know who or how to ask for such a large amount of money and I have no idea when or how I could pay it back while also maintaining everything else. I have absolutely tried to get help from DSS and because it's a two adult household and my sister's job is to watch my son off the books, we don't qualify, as she's an unworking adult according to the system. So all in all I owe 2125 in rent, 1600 to NYSEG, 200 to get medication for my dog, and I can only assume anywhere from 600-1k for my van to get a wheel bearing fixed or whatever else could be wrong with it. I don't need to pay NYSEG down completely I just need to satiate them so they don't shut us off. I realize my problems are not unique and anyone reading this is probably nodding their head along to the list like yeah, that's life. I agree, I shouldn't need help for average run of the mill expenditures and I hate asking for it but I genuinely don't know what to do and have been left in a predicament that I personally cannot get out of alone. I work 7 days a week sometimes between 2 jobs and I'm notorious for not calling in, even when I'm sick, but I can't fit more days to work into my week and my best isn't cutting it right now. I would love to power through and figure it all myself but all the issues are becoming incredibly time sensitive and I have no idea how to prioritize fractions of the cost of each issue. I have a really wonderful support system and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have the guts to ask for help so shout out to the people that know the finer details and are loving me through this. I completely understand that everyone is also going through it (NYS is wild) and I understand and appreciate that not everyone can help, but if you can, please. Know that no matter how small, it's the world to me. Thank you for reading this far, now go enjoy some of the sunshine we are finally getting <3 (For anyone who donates, I'll be happy to update my FB with screenshots of my paid bills and hopefully soon to be healthy puppus so you can know it all went right where it should )
