We are raising funds to help an Iraqi woman who has been held in ICE detention for over 10 months, with no family, no financial support, and no one to advocate for her. She came to the United States in December 2024 on a K1 visa with the hope of starting a new life. She followed the legal process and married within 2 months. However, due to a clerical mistake or procedural issue, her case was not properly completed, and she was placed into ICE detention.
Since then, she has remained detained—alone, without resources, and without the ability to support herself or move forward with her life. She has no relatives in the US, no income, and no access to the basic support systems many of us take for granted. Despite doing her best to follow the law, she is now stuck in a situation she cannot resolve on her own.
We are raising funds to help secure her release from ICE detention (bond and legal-related expenses), provide basic living support once she is released (housing, food, essentials), and help her obtain work authorization and begin rebuilding her life. This is not just about legal status—it is about humanity. She came here with hope, followed the process, and now needs support to regain her freedom and dignity. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference. If you can't donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach others. Thank you for your compassion and support.
