Update 12/3/25: Of the family members who have been taken, one of them faces deportation while the other remains at a detention center waiting to fight their case. The rest of the family needs financial support for rent, food, diapers, legal fees, and relocation. Our community is working hard to help them work out the details and logistics to keep them safe.

On December 2nd, ICE returned to Avenue 55 and kidnapped multiple members of this family. The primary caretakers and breadwinners of the family have been taken and we need help in supporting the rest of the family while we await hearings to determine potential bail. Anything and everything helps.

On June 24th, a LGBTQ+ Latina couple, their children, and their grandchildren were unjustly endangered and harassed in their home by Homeland Security officers who refused to identify themselves or provide a judicial warrant. The officers attempted to break into their apartment unit, ignoring the pleas of the women and children inside the home. With the support of the surrounding community, the agents were driven away, but the incident has left the family fearing for their ongoing safety, unable to work or even leave their home.
This incident has plunged a multigenerational family into crisis. One member of the family, pregnant at the time of the incident, has especially been impacted. She and her child are experiencing paralyzing levels of stress, as the officers' attempted break-in caused her to fall twice on her pregnant belly. Her mental and physical health have taken tolls as the fear of being ripped away from loved ones prevented her from accessing necessary and timely health services despite her pregnancy and severe pain from the falls.
Since the incident, the family has been struggling to sustain enough income to meet their essential living expenses, including rent, groceries, and diapers. Drowning in unpaid rent, the family is at high risk of losing their home and beloved Highland Park community.
Please support us in raising emergency funds to help this loving family keep their home and safe space! Once they're able to restore their own stability, they want to share any excess funds with other families like theirs who have been impacted by the immigration crisis in Los Angeles.
