Help EvoL on it's first UK tour

“It is a visual feast of choreographic imagination that delights the eye, the ear and the mind.” - Theatre Bath ****

After premiering our 4 star reviewed show EvoL at the Rondo Theatre in Bath earlier this year, Emotive Circus Arts has the amazing opportunity to take our show to audiences across the country, but we need your kind donations to do it!

Emotive Circus Arts has now done our first show with success, but we still feel that we have so much more to share. We want to make an even bigger splash, fulfilling our company-wide dream of inspiring passion and emotion in audiences far and wide. We aim to help people accept themselves, embracing their emotions and their mental health needs and never being ashamed of who they are, or the struggles that they may be going through.

We have been offered an amazing opportunity to spread these goals and aspiraitons further with our first UK tour of EvoL in theatres that have housed incredible companies. Unfortunately for Emotive Circus Arts, we simply do not have the essential funds needed to take our show on the road.

ECA wants to continue to inspire and elicit deep emotion in our audiences and take them on that journey through EvoL. With your help, we are hoping to visit 4 venues across the UK, for 7 performances throughout March and April 2019. For our UK tour, we plan to make a difference by partnering with Off the Record BANES and the national mental health charity Time To Change. With this partnership we aim to educate, spread awareness, and normalize talking about mental health and emotions.

We are very grateful to the generous people and companies that donated previously, we could not have done it without you. Despite those essential donations, making a dream come to life and touring a show is very expensive. Our team has already contributed £900 of our own money to this next step, but we unfortunately don’t have any more to give. Some of the costs that are left to pay are for rehearsal spaces, transport to get to the theatres, resources to enable work with mental health partners, costumes for new cast members, lights, the backdrop, our producer, our choreographer, the list goes on. The money we raise through this campaign would fund the continuation of this show and propel us into the future of Emotive Circus Arts. With the help of donors, EvoL and our mental health mission, can be brought to new crowds, more people in need, and maybe even to a town near you.

For your help and commitment to our company, we hope to make you feel as involved in what we are doing here at ECA as possible. As a token of our appreciation, we have awesome gifts varying from workshops, circus performances, private lessons as well as the chance to come to an exclusive premier viewing of EvoL!

Why sponsor?
As a sponsor you play a crucial role in bringing our EvoL to life, allowing us to pursue our mission to create extraordinary emotive performances across the UK that really make a difference both for individuals, and for the UK as a whole in spreading our message of expressing emotion and talking about mental health openly without any shame or negative feelings.

We have been lucky to receive support in the form of mentorship, and in kind
sponsorship from many companies such as Seachange Arts, Enlightened Lighting, Atomic Design Rentals. This being said, we have been working very hard, but have not managed to achieve any corporate monetary sponsorship.

Emotive Circus Arts are not yet government funded therefore we need your help in
bringing our production to life.

About the company
Emotive Circus Arts is a new Contemporary Circus Company based in Bristol that blends a high level of Circus, Dance and Theatre to create deeply emotive shows.

ECA is the first circus company  to use specific studies such as Neuroscience, Affect Theory and Jungian Psychology to help elicit and inspire a deep emotional connection between the audience and the show. We are also the first to have each of our shows based around exploring a different emotion.

Emotive Circus Arts creates shows that are introspectively educational, focusing on inspiring emotion and helping the audience recognize a part of themselves in the performer. These shows are focused on exploring the depths and facets of different emotions by using the body through dance, theatre, and circus. ECA also uses symbols, colours, acting techniques, storyline, and other elements to immerse the audience.

We live to inspire passion in our audiences.

About the show
EvoL uses high level circus arts, physical theatre and dance to explore the multi-
faceted dimensions of different types of love. The show beautifully articulates the many different ways that love can be expressed. Through the movement narrative, EvoL tells deep stories of love in a way that provokes a subconscious emotional release from the audience.

Both the shows exquisite physicality, and its dreamy fantastical imagery, truly transport the audience to the world of EvoL, which magically lies between a world somewhere very far away and one extremely close to the heart. EvoL is sad, funny, joyful, inspiring, and relatable.

For the first show, we teamed up with mental health charity Off The Record BANES, to end the stigma surrounding mental health, and encouraged the public to open themselves up expressing their emotions. For the tour, we are pairing up with both Off The Record BANES, and Time to Change, to continue this work.

About our Partnership with Time to Change and Off the Record BANES
We are excited to announce that we are pairing up with both the local organization, ‘Off the Record BANES’, and the national organization ‘Time to Change’.

Through our partnership with ‘Time to Change’, there will be booths set up before the show where people with lived mental health experiences will share their stories. We aim to spread awareness and break the taboo that we shouldn’t talk about mental health issues. Audiences will be encouraged to interact and we will share fliers about different conditions and local services that are available to them.

With our partners, ‘Off the Record BANES’, we will engage younger audiences through workshops on ‘expressing emotion through the body’. These workshops will target those with mental health conditions and people who struggle to express emotion through words. We will also have a social media campaign to spread awareness about mental health issues, through short informational videos, people sharing lived experiences, online engagement and more.

We will also pursue long term engagement with local audiences through sharing information about future collaborations between ECA and local communities, to create performances on mental health.
