Hello, I’m Allan Taylor, Chairman of the United Kingdom Escape Artists, and I’m reaching out today not just as a fellow performer, but as a friend.

First of all I want to make it clear that Rick didn’t initially want to reach out to friends but I’ve encouraged him to accept help and assistance.

If you know the world of magic and escapology, then you’ve likely heard the name Rick Maisel. Known globally for his jaw-dropping Washing Machine Escape—a feat that earned him television fame and the admiration of audiences around the world—Rick is more than just a showman. He is a generous soul who has spent decades lifting up others in our community, always ready to offer a helping hand, share knowledge, or lend support backstage when the lights go dim.

But now, Rick needs us.

Due to a series of serious medical issues and mounting expenses, Rick has found himself homeless in Las Vegas. A performer who once escaped from the seemingly impossible now faces a situation no one should have to endure—struggling without shelter, security, or stability.

This is a call to action for anyone who has been inspired by Rick’s performances, shared a stage with him, learned from his expertise, or simply believes in supporting one another through hard times. We are looking to raise funds to:

• Secure safe and stable housing for Rick

• Provide medical support and basic necessities

• Help him re-enter the workforce and the performance world he loves

Rick gave his all to the magic and escapology communities. Now it’s our turn to give back.
