On Friday morning, February 6th, my life shifted in a matter of seconds.

I was stopped in traffic when a dark gray Ford F-250 slammed into me and drove away. No plate. No name. Just the impact — and then they were gone.

My car was totaled.

I was left injured.

And in one moment, the stability my children and I depend on every single day was shaken.

I am a full-time EMT. I am in paramedic school. And I am a mom to a 4-year-old and an 18-month-old.

My babies are still so little. They depend on me for everything — getting to babysitters, getting to work, getting to school, getting to the grocery store, getting to life.

I only carried liability insurance. That means there is no coverage for my vehicle. No safety net for what was lost.

I contacted the police. I followed up. I called businesses myself to check cameras. I am chasing every lead that comes in. But I was told there are too many hit-and-runs right now, and the case will not be investigated further unless I somehow produce a plate number or a name.

The reality is that even if the driver is found, there is a strong chance they are uninsured.

I can handle hard things. I can set up payment plans for medical bills. I can push through pain. I can keep showing up.

But not having a vehicle is different.

My car wasn’t just transportation. It was our lifeline.

It’s how I get to work serving this community as an EMT.


It’s how I get to paramedic class so I can continue building a future for my children.


It’s how my babies get safely to the people who care for them while I work and go to school.


It’s how we function.

Without it, everything feels fragile and uncertain.

Making this page is incredibly humbling for me. Asking for help is not easy. But several people encouraged me to create this, and I am choosing to be vulnerable.
