Tammy and Michael are an elderly disabled Black couple that have called Northeast Portland their home for their entire lives. During this past heatwave, they were forcefully evicted from their home of 18 years and have nowhere to turn to. A few days after some members of the community were able to fundraise to get them into a hotel for a few days to escape the heat, their van was towed from their home, and now they do not have access to a means of transportation anymore either.

We are raising this money to get them housed and prevent the further displacement of Black folks from a part of town that has continued to drive them out for decades.
