I’m organizing this fundraiser because I recently received notice that my rent will be raised to market value, which is considerably more than present. I have lived at this residence for 9 years.

I'm on a month-to-month lease, and while this change is legal, it has created a sudden and stressful transition for me. What I need most right now is time: time to avoid moving in the middle of winter and time to find a safe, affordable place to live. In addition, my health is compromised with scoliosis and environmental /chemical sensitivies.

This fundraiser is meant to relieve pressure so I can make thoughtful, steady decisions rather than rush into a place that further exacerbates my health conditions.

This fundraiser will provide:

3 to 4 months of rent support to carry me through the winter

Breathing room to search for a suitable new home

Partial coverage toward a future security deposit and moving expenses
