Help an artist rebuild after targeted destruction

Hello,

My name is Angharad. I’m an artist, musician, mature student and childminder.

Recently, my car was destroyed in an act of targeted violence. While the person responsible has not been formally identified, the police and I believe this was carried out by an ex-partner (due to the nature and evidence of the crime)

The incident has been deeply unsettling - not only emotionally but also practically as this act took place on our rural family property where young children were also present. It has left us shaken and feeling unsafe in our own home.

This was not just a loss of a vehicle - it was an attack on my independence and safety. With this, I am choosing to rebuild with the support of community (which I thought I'd never have to do)

I’m raising funds to help purchase a reliable second-hand car that will restore my mobility, sense of safety, and ability to continue my work.

The funds raised will cover the installation of security systems, the vehicle itself, and loss of income.

This campaign is not just to help me replace what was broken, but to raise awareness of targeted acts of violence against women. These acts are meant to punish and control. They are rarely spoken about, and even more rarely taken seriously.

I never thought I would need to ask for help from my community in this way. It makes me feel exposed and uncomfortable. I’ve always tried to manage things on my own and keep moving, no matter what. But the truth is, I can’t rebuild from this alone. And I’m learning that asking for help is also a form of strength.
