Paul Goss is a hardworking and clean living New York artist of Irish descent. Two of his grandparents are from County Donegal, Ireland. The surname Goss originates from the word goose. Most likely Paul's ancestry is of rural, outdoor workers.
Living in New York, Paul was also drawn to outdoor work. He is happiest when painting outside, in all kinds of difficult weathers. Whatever the weather, even on Christmas Day, Paul can be found working hard outside.
Paul Goss's paintings are very special and poetic. He has been busy chronicling the New York landscape for almost 20 years. An artist of deeply personal and distinctive vision, each painting is made up of many sessions, sometimes up to 70 sessions! Paul is chronicling both the history of this ever changing, vibrant city and its many inhabitants. Brick, glass, water, air and the human struggle to survive melt and meld together in his unique paintings.
The paintings of Paul Goss are highly likely to be cherished by future generations.
But, for now, unfortunately Paul is struggling to survive. His life is tough, stressful and uncertain. He is completely overwhelmed and facing possible eviction from his home of 27 years, where he has never once been behind with his rent, until now. As we all know the world has changed. Times are hard. Paul Goss, a humble hardworking artist, who has devoted his life to capturing moments of beauty and spirituality in one of the toughest cities in the world, needs our help.
