Hello, we are two brothers — Abdelrahman Lamdi, 20 years old, and Ahmed Lamdi, 13 years old. Because of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, we are displaced with our family in Rafah. Despite our young ages, because of the war, we are now responsible for our family—our parents, and our sister, Marah.
Before the war, I was a university freshman, majoring in Artificial Intelligence. I was very excited about choosing this major, because of its many opportunities in the future, and I aspired to be distinguished in this field. Ahmed, my younger brother, also loved school and loved studying English.
But now all of our dreams have been shattered and all of our hopes have vanished because of this war. We lost our home that shelters us. I lost my office and my computer, which I used to spend long hours studying and working hard on. Instead of waking up in the morning and going to school like any other student in the world, we wake up in the morning to the sound of bombing, artillery, missiles, and explosions. We stand in lines for long periods of time trying to get a piece of bread or a bottle of water that is not even clean. We no longer feel the number of days. We have lost all of our dreams; the only dreams left in Gaza are to survive.
We want to ask you for help so that can regain some of the life that every human being deserves. We need to get out of Gaza and try to travel abroad so that I can register at the university and complete my studies, like any student who has the right to education, and be able to stand on my own two feet to create my future.
Ahmed also needs to return to school; he has missed a whole year of his education already.
Please support us. I do not want to lose my future and my life. Be with us to light the fuse of hope to start a future that any ambitious and passionate person deserves. Any person deserves a better life away from death lurking on every corner in every street. We fear losing our lives, just like our friends and neighbors.
I'm setting up a GoFundMe campaign to raise € 50,000. Here is the breakdown of the funds used for :
1. The costs of exiting the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing point is $10,000 per person
2. Exit transportation is $500 per person
3. Expenses for food, shelter, and goods like clothing and toiletries, to help us survive
4. Online tutoring for Ahmed to return to school is $200/month
5. Medical treatment for myself, after an injury I sustained in my neck
6. The platform fees ( about 2.9%) for GFM

In these times of hardship everyone can make an impact and positive change, I truly hope our campaign receives this support to provide our and our family with another opportunity in this world. Rest assured that your support will make a difference in our journey of overcoming difficulties and conflict, and enable us to persevere and resist this frustration and loss of dreams. Your support can make a profound difference in the lives of our family members. Every donation, no matter what it is, can make a meaningful difference in our lives.
