Reverend Maria Shinzai is one of the most amazing human beings I know. She is talented, kind, selfless and helps people and animals even when she can barely help herself. And right now she needs some help. She was going to set this up for herself, but gofundme is causing a delay over updating her information. So I am posting for her. In her own words:

As a Zen priest, I help people and I teach. Now the teacher is the student. Today I am lea4rning humility, asking for help and learning my limits. When people come to me for help I don’t know how to turn anyone away. Due to this, I backed myself into a corner and not I am in need.

I overextended myself so a few families wouldn’t face eviction. I don’t get many donations at the Buddhist center, so I used my own funds. But that decision has cost me. Now I am facing the inability to pay my own rent, car payment, food for me and my two rescue cats, and utilities.

I am doing this alone on a single income. I am disabled but working full-time. But the stress of living like this is taking a serious toll on my health. I have tried very hard to recover from this, and live very simply, but it’s still too much. I have created several GoFundMe drives for others, but I now humbly asking for help to get me back on my feet. It is a very difficult for me to ask, but I have no other options. Rest assured, I always pay it forward. And I vow to learn from this and never get myself in this situation again.

I am facing a rapidly approaching deadline before things get much, much worse for me, so thank you for any help you can give.
