I am Mohammad Ali Awang, an Afghan human rights advocate recently accepted into the prestigious European Master’s Program in Human Rights and Democratization (EMA) at the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice, Italy. “The EMA program is renowned for training the next generation of human rights defenders through an interdisciplinary and hands-on approach, with access to leading global experts.” This opportunity is more than a degree — it’s a chance to rebuild my life and continue my mission to fight for justice, human rights, and dignity for all, especially those most at risk.

A Personal Loss

In April 2025, I lost my father after a long illness. I spent the majority of my savings covering his medical care and funeral expenses. As the primary provider for my family, this has left me with no financial means to cover my tuition and relocation costs—despite my acceptance into a program that could change the course of my life.

Why I Need Your Help

I am raising €10,000 to cover:

Security deposit & Administrative Cost: €1000

The First instalment of tuition fees: €2650

The second instalment of my tuition fees €2,800

Relocation/Visa Fees: €3500

My Mission

Advocate for justice and human rights at the international level
