Help an Afghan Girl Pursue Her Dream of Becoming a Doctor
Donation protected
Aqela Maiwandwal, born on March 19, 2001, in Ghazni, Afghanistan, has faced unimaginable tragedy. She lost two sisters due to a lack of medical care and witnessed her community's struggles, where education and healthcare are often out of reach.
After her family sold their land to seek a better future, they moved to Kabul, where Aqela excelled in school, driven by her dream to become a doctor to help the vulnerable avoid the tragedies she suffered.
In 2020, she was accepted into Kabul University of Medical Sciences, but her studies were abruptly halted when the Taliban returned to power, banning women from education. Aqela has a GPA of 87% and has received multiple scholarship offers, yet financial constraints prevent her from seizing these opportunities.
Recently, Aqela was awarded a partial scholarship to study medicine at Al-Farabi National Kazakh University in Kazakhstan. She still needs your support to cover living expenses and make this dream a reality.
Aqela’s plea resonates not just for her future, but for the millions of Afghan women whose rights have been stripped away. Your contribution will not only help her but stand against the barriers young women face in Afghanistan.
Please help Aqela continue her education and become the doctor her community desperately needs. Share her story and support her journey. Every bit counts. Thank you for your kindness and solidarity.
