A former client of mine is trying to move out of state to get away from an abusive ex. She has an infant child, and furniture and other belongings that would be impossible to move on her own. Her moving company has given her a $3,300 quote to get everything packed up here and unloaded and set up at her eventual destination. The need is time-sensitive but not immediate.

In the event that the goal is not reached or circumstances otherwise change, the funds may also go to basic survival needs such as groceries, baby food, gas money, etc. The cuts to SNAP benefits are a large part of why she is unable to pay for these expenses in the first place.
