We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts to ask for support for a single mother and her 8 children, 2 of whom have special needs. This family has been through unimaginable hardship, and now they are facing a tragedy that no mother or child should ever have to endure.

Zaynab Maclin is a courageous mother who does everything she can to care for her children, despite overwhelming challenges. Recently, while she was at the hospital with her blind son—one of her two special needs children—she made the difficult decision to temporarily secure her 8-year-old daughter at home for her safety. This was the only way to keep her daughter safe, as she struggles with behaviors that require constant supervision. Tragically, during this time, a neighbor—a man in his 40s—came into their home and sexually assaulted this innocent child.

Now, this precious 8-year-old girl needs urgent medical care, including screenings and treatment to ensure her physical health, as well as therapy to begin healing emotionally. Her mother, already battling housing insecurity, poverty, and the demands of raising two special needs children who require round-the-clock care, is devastated and struggling to make ends meet.

This family needs more than just financial assistance. They need a stable home where their children can feel safe, supported, and cared for. They need the medical care, screenings, and mental health support that this young girl—who has been through the unthinkable—deserves.
