Help an 11 year old Ukraine refuge

I am spearheading a fundraising effort to help 11 year old Nikita continue his gymnastics training. He and his mother escaped from Kyiv after the Russians invaded his country. They took a hair raising 14 hour train trip to Poland where they were met by a US-based Ukrainian friend who accompanied them to Fort Worth where they are currently staying. Nikita has had to overcome his terror whenever he hears a plane overhead. He has been given several weeks at the International Gymnastics Camp this summer in Pennsylvania where he can train at the level he was competing in Ukraine prior to the invasion. We are raising funds for him and his Mom's airfare to take advantage of the offer to attend the camp.

 

The funds will be collected by Sokol Fort Worth, a 501 (c)3 non profit sports organization and will be used to purchase airfares round trip to Pennsylvania for Nikita and his mom Jane. Anything over the cost of the airfare will be used to help this little family with transportation and training costs once he returns from the camp.

We just discovered that this little family were only given visas for one year then they are supposed to go back to war torn Kyiv. They love it here and would prefer to stay. We are now committed to help this dream come true by finding an Immigration Lawyer to help them get Residency status here in the U.S. As I write this we are almost at our original goal of $2000 for their airfares. We're expanding our goal to $50,000 to help with getting an apartment, a vehicle, counselling any any legal and immigration fees.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive.  A huge thank you to the generous people who donated to help complete strangers.
