Help Amy and Her Boys Recover After a Terrifying Accident
Hi everyone,
I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister, Amy, after a frightening accident that has left her family in a very difficult situation.
While driving home from work recently, a tree suddenly fell directly onto Amy’s van. The impact brought down live power lines that became tangled in the tree and wrapped around her vehicle. Amy was trapped inside her van with live electrical lines surrounding it for nearly two hours before emergency crews were able to safely rescue her.
Thankfully, she was able to get out safely, but the van was completely destroyed. The insurance company has determined that the vehicle is totaled, and unfortunately the coverage wasn’t enough to pay off the remaining balance. Amy and her family are now left with about $8,000 still owed on the van, while also needing another reliable vehicle so they can continue getting to work and caring for their family.
Amy is an incredible mom to her two amazing boys, Gregory (8) and Jacob (5). Gregory recently started flag football and absolutely loves it, and Jacob is finishing up his very first year of kindergarten. Amy does everything for her boys, always putting them first and making sure they have the support and love they need to grow and thrive.
After three years of hard work at her job, Amy had just recently earned a raise. Her boyfriend of 12 years, Mike, also just started an exciting new position as the Executive Chef at a wonderful restaurant. They’ve both been working incredibly hard to build a stable and happy life for their family.
Unfortunately, life has thrown them another unexpected challenge. In addition to losing their vehicle, they recently learned that the landlord of the home they’ve lived in for the past three years plans to sell the house. Now they’re facing the stress of trying to find a new place to live while also dealing with the financial impact of this accident.
Amy is one of the kindest, most hardworking people I know. She’s the type of person who always shows up for others without hesitation. It breaks my heart to see her and her family work so hard to move forward, only to be set back by circumstances beyond their control.
Our goal is to raise $8,000 to help Amy pay off the remaining balance on the totaled van so they can begin the process of getting another reliable vehicle and keep their family moving forward.
Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this page, would mean the world to Amy, Mike, Gregory, and Jacob.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story and for helping a truly deserving family during a very difficult moment.
With gratitude, Allison Feketik
