Help Amy's Family Overcome Medical and Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Since her diagnosis, Amy fought every day with unwavering strength and grace. Sadly, because of her long-term illness, she was unable to secure life insurance, and her health coverage was limited—leaving the family with a significant financial burden.
Amy’s final weeks were filled with both hope and heartbreak. On April 27, she was admitted to Sentara Albemarle Hospital and spent two weeks in the ICU on various life-support machines. Just as we thought she might be well enough to return home, her condition took a sudden turn for the worse. She was transferred to Norfolk General’s ICU in critical condition, placed on a ventilator for four days, and although she showed signs of improvement, she soon declined again.
After many discussions with her medical team and family, Amy made the brave decision to discontinue further cancer treatments. Her body was tired, and she wished to spend her remaining time in peace, with hopes of witnessing two beautiful milestones: the birth of her first grandchild in November and the wedding of her second eldest son in September. Tragically, she passed away before reaching these cherished moments, surrounded by the love of her family.
Amy was known best for her incredible heart—selfless, nurturing, and deeply devoted. Her proudest role was being a mother to four wonderful sons and a loving wife to her husband, Joe.
Over 13 years of treatments, hospital stays, and medical challenges have left the family with immense financial strain. In honor of Amy’s life and legacy, we are raising funds to help cover her funeral costs and outstanding medical expenses. Any amount you can give—no matter how small—will help lift this burden from her family during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and love.
With gratitude, Colleen Morris
