To those who don’t know, my daughter, Amyla has a skin condition which a lot of doctors refuse to see since she is a pediatric patient. With that being said, we have no choice but to turn to some of the best available doctors in the country. Located in Minnesota, the Rochester Mayo Clinic is our closest and only option left! They have informed us that they do not take or accept our insurance and we now have to come up with a minimum of $5,000 for just the up front co-pay!! This doesn’t even begin to cover transportation, food&drinks or place to stay let alone miscellaneous items which are surely to happen. We are now forced to step out of our comfort zone and ask our friends, family and communities for help. It is so hard to see our daughter in pain and not being able to help her! They are giving us a little time to find the means to make the appointment while all her previous doctors send their documentation to them and get reviewed so they can give or find the best treatment for her. They have told us that genetic testing, skin tests and more allergy tests are needed. They are also going to be testing for rare skin diseases just to cover all the bases! If you could find it in your heart to help this family and my daughter finally get to the right doctors we would be so grateful and appreciate!
