As many of you have heard over the weekend of August 9 & 10 West Allis had devastating floods. There are so many families impacted. My sister Amy Worske and her fiancee Kevin Davidson were one of those families. I am trying to help raise funds to help with the insurmountable bills and repairs they are facing. We were waiting to see if anything was going to be covered by insurance but as I’m sure you can guess that has all been denied! Almost everything they owned has been damaged in flooding sewage water and nothing is covered! Their entire basement floor to ceiling was filled with water. Then the water kept rising and there was about 14 inches throughout their first floor. There was damages to all the floors, walls, appliances, furnaces, and the list goes on and on. That’s not even the worst part. The worst part is all the sentimental belongings lost. One of the worst moments was watching my sister, who was obviously in shock, trying to dry out my nephews baseball cards. He had spent hours sorting and organizing only to wind them soaked and floating in sewage water. Or her Christmas tree that belonged to my great great aunt and the years worth their kids handmade ornaments all destroyed! They are not even able to stay in their own home because of the mild and mildew smell. I could go on and on about the hardships they are facing.
So many have reached out over this last week with well wishes and asking how to help. I decided to start this for anyone who is able to donate. On behalf of Kevin, Amy, and our family we want to say thank you to everyone for the help, support, and time you have shared over the last week. For all those impacted by the floods our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. During times of devastation it truly shows how strong we stand together as one!
