This pair of lovebirds needs some loving attention right about now. Amy Thompson and Wid Yarnall go the extra mile to help their friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Lately, they've been running their own marathon of medical challenges and facing the accompanying bills. I met them through our community garden several years ago, when they lived in rural Wisconsin. Wid patiently taught me how to till my garden plot, and Amy captured my heart with her limitless generosity and compassion. Shortly after we all met, Wid had a stroke and was diagnosed with cancer. Amy was devastated, but she hung in there through it all. They eventually moved back East to Pennsylvania for more support and affordable living conditions, but Amy and I have kept in touch.

I've just learned from Amy that Wid has a new cancer diagnosis, and the infusions required are pricey beyond the co-pays. Their savings account is depleted, and each infusion costs upwards of $2,000, with at least a dozen needed. Donations will go directly toward these medical expenses, helping Amy and Wid focus on healing instead of worrying about bills.
